The NBA is back and in full swing, with teams and players starting to separate themselves from the pack after a couple of weeks of action. This also means that it is becoming easier and easier to determine which NBA games are worth looking forward to the most, like this group of games worth watching over the weekend around the National Basketball Association.

Detroit Pistons at Los Angeles Clippers

Even though the Detroit Pistons were one of the more disappointing teams in the NBA last year, they appear to be putting it together and meet the always exciting Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. This game will feature two of the best big men in the NBA, with Detroit’s Andre Drummond and Los Angeles’ DeAndre Jordan meeting up in what should be a very exciting battle in the interior.

While both Jordan and Drummond are great players, it will be interesting to see if either team chooses to intentionally foul the opposing center, as both of them are horrendous free throw shooters. That added layer of strategy will makes things even more interesting, especially if the game is close.

Dallas Mavericks at Houston Rockets

These two teams met in the first round of last year’s NBA playoffs, and both the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets put up tons of points. The Rockets got the better of that series, but Dallas is more than capable of taking this game against a Rockets team that hasn’t played well consistently in the early going this year.

One player who has played consistently well this year is Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, who appears to be headed for another great season despite his advanced age, at least in basketball years.

Cleveland Cavaliers at Milwaukee Bucks

In a matchup of two playoff teams from last year’s Eastern Conference playoffs, LeBron James will lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to take on the Milwaukee Bucks, who are a good looking young team. With Jabari Parker back in action for the Bucks after missing the bulk of last year with a knee injury, and Giannis Antetokounmpo continuing to improve, the Bucks may have the combination of speed and size to disrupt James and make this a rough game for the Cavaliers.

It will be interesting to see if Kevin Love will be able to continue his strong start against a Bucks team that will presumably match him up with a faster, more athletic player out on the perimeter. The Bucks should do a good job of limiting Love’s shooting opportunities, but Love is an elite player and could end up having a great night anyway.

At this stage of the season, Cleveland Cavaliers fans shouldn’t expect the team to go out and do everything they can to win every game anyway, as their top priority is to get everyone in shape. They are also looking to keep LeBron James, Kevin Love and company healthy so that the team is in the best shape possible when Kyrie Irving is ready to play again.
