Premio Loco landed last year’s Winter Derby and has good form in the book, running creditably in the 2011 Lockinge Stakes when only four lengths behind multiple Group 1 winner Canford Cliffs. A big run is expected from Premio Loco. Milblish’s latest run at Lingfield in last month’s trial for this race saw him finish a very creditable second to Marco Botti’s Planteur. Beaten only by whiskers to a horse who has defeated the mighty Sarfina to land the Group 1 Prix Ganay, rates as top form and Miblish gets the vote. Trainer Sue Smith has been in good form of late and front running Fillthepower can put up a bold performance in the stamina sapping 4m1f Midlands Grand National at Ffos Las. A useful fellow over hurdles the seven-year-old gelding isn’t gaudy but has proven himself ultra-consistent over the bigger obstacles, hitting the frame in four from seven chase races. A son of Subtle Power, the step up in trip should enhance this tall, lengthy slugger’s chance of success. In the 4.25 Ffos Las Class 4 Handicap Chase, Financial Climate from the Oliver Sherwood camp should run well. Financial Climate showed a turn of foot when landing a bumper, progressed to triumph over hurdles and was only just touched off completing the hat-trick over fences at Fontwell. Financial Climate’s current rating witnesses him 4lb lower over fences than his hurdles rating and provided the horse gets a little juice in the ground he can set the financial pulse racing.]]>
