Doncaster Racecourses
Doncaster is a galloping, flat left handed track. The circuit is around two miles in circumference and is pear shaped. It is a dual purpose course hosting both flat and National Hunt racing but while there is group one action on the flat there are no grade one races for National Hunt racing.
The jump track often drains well, and it’s rare to see the ground riding very testing. It’s a fair course but does suit a galloper with a fairly long straight and the obstacles, in particular, the fences can find horses out, especially inexperienced novices, so good jumpers have an advantage around here as errors can prove costly.
The main feature race is the Skybet Chase which is run over three miles during the last weekend of January every calendar year. It is a class two handicap event and some stables use this race as a trial for the Grand National despite the distance being only twenty four furlongs.

Additional note; To increase profits I would leave out the stable’s younger and more progressive runners, all winners from this yard were aged between four and seven. Anything looking exposed ie; 25 runs or more have yet to record a win for the stable when running at this venue in the set of circumstances mentioned above.

Additional note; Just like Alan King, please note the race type conditions required, which is the same. A decent win strike rate and reasonable profits to SP when you consider this stable is a high profile establishment within the industry. There are no specific additional requirements to monitor as all the wins have come from a variety of conditions.
